"Smudging" is a way to make a painting like picture. If you google around there's several tutorials on it, and I'm certainly no expert- I can count on one hand the times I've tried it, and it does take practice. What you do is use your Smudge Tool with a Dry Brush, reduce the opacity and "smudge" the picture. I used the smudge tool, and reduced the opacity but could not find the dry brush. So I take it the dry brush is the key. LMBO FurrFace no like? I see a little smudging but not like what you got.

You have to click on the Smudge tool, then the brushes options and scroll down some to find the right brush.
FurrFace says (as he was sharpening his claws) that he's gonna shread both of you.

 Before  After Okay, Doc I redid the smudging project, took awhile hope you like it. I used Tia as my model, thought Furr-Face was getting upset with getting her hair all messed up.  |

I'm gonna go ahead and give you a karma for trying. A little heavy handed! It's suppose to be a subtle smudging, like my example. Did you use the Dry Brush (it looks speckled) instead of the solid smudge brush and reduce the opacity some to tone down the effect? This takes an easy hand and lots of small strokes with the lie of the fur. I'd like to see you try it again, but use FurrFace this time- he won't mind if you don't mess with him too much.
