Very majestic indeed.  And peaceful.  The angle of the shadow of the volcano matches the shoreline so nicely!  Complete use of the frame.  A poetic image.  K.

thanks Pixelguru...this is one of the active volcanoes in the Philippines. if you'll look closely on the tip of Mayon, you'll see she's actively spurring hot gasses Smiley thanks for the kind words...glad you liked my image.

K from me too for this wonderful scene.  It's funny how such a peaceful scene is that of an active volcano!  Nice composition, reflections and mood.

thanks ennairam...come to think of it, yes, it is ironic that such a peaceful place has an active volcano which can errupt anytime. the people  living around Mayon volcano is so used to her eruptions.

Ah, I'm glad that you pointed out the smoke plume (I missed that on first viewing).  Have you posted other pictures here?  Please post more.

the Mayon Volcano image is the 1st I've uploaded. will certainly add more images in the coming days. i'm more of a mono guy, so don't be surprised if I post more monotone pics over the colored ones  Grin but i'll definitely upload colored images once in awhile  Wink

A very nice image.  Nothing not to like for me.  I also think a K is in order.

Nice image.  I like the graphic qualities (guard rail and > sign).  Is this a sugar cane field?  The contrast range, from brightest clouds to bottom right corner is a bit extreme.  Do you have the tools to tone down the highlights and lighten the shadows?

Impressive! Good composition and b&w conversion. You do have a good eye for composition, empiboy. Well done. Have a K from me, too Sir. Smiley

Please post new subjects in new posts so that we can find and comment on them all.

The volcano is wonderful.  The perfect shape rising out of the sea is lovely and the dramatic sky is icing on the cake.  This is a terrific composition and the processing is superb.

K for a wonderful photograph.  Please keep posting.

@ Pixelguru: yeah, i over did the contrast range (from the whitest white to the blackest black) on the 2nd image. that's the problem with me sometimes...my quest to make some parts of the image pop-out, usually sacrifices both the extreme ends of the contrast range. thanks for critique...i'll (try to Grin) control this side of me more  Smiley

regarding your question if this is a sugarcane field, no it's not. those are grass which leads to the edge of a mountain range.

@ gfitzgerald, Jiro, Werner G & gannet: thanks for all your comments...will do upload more images.

"Awaiting Deployment"

Okay Dino, I take back the comments I made about contrast range with your second picture.  This outrigger photo puts all that to rest...just gorgeous tones!  And a great point of view.  I like the glassy smoothness of the water (I'm guessing you used a time exposure to achieve that?).  The dark sky at the top complements the dark shoreline at the bottom; I surely hope no one suggests that you "crop the top"  Smiley   Some people feel that only color photography replicates the way we see with our eyes, but I feel that this pure use of b&w is much more evocative.  Big K for you.

Oh, and yes please do make separate posts for each of your photos.  It is less confusing for us viewers.   Smiley

@ Pixelguru: thanks for the kind words on my outrigger image. yes, i did a time exposure on that one. less than a minute of exposure time, if i remember correctly =)

I also love the first and third, great processing, K for you!
In the three dark (two horizontal and one vertical) wooden sticks there seem to be steps of pixels - may be due to strong sharpening or resolution reduction for this post? Could be also a misinterpretation from my side  Smiley
