Nice crisp conversion Stephen..   Tell, me though - What did you get?  I see two interesting buildings and expect the one on the right is the primary subject because I think I am seeing most of it and only part of the other.  And I don't know anything about either building so I don't know what I am seeing...

So, while I like the light, exposure and processing, the POV and composition bother me.

Hi Meadowlark

This is the Parliament of Canada and it is acctualy one building the front part is the peace tower as you move your way to the left you have the houses of parliament and the senate and that last building is the library of parliament. The reason it looks almost detached is because on Feb 3 1916 the original parliament burnt down but the managed to save the library and as a result of construction it is kind of a different building. The library was completed in 1876 while the new parliament was completed in 1922 and the peace tower finally in 1927.

Hope that sheds some light and if your in Ottawa give me a holler I work there Cheesy

oh and it is a side view as well here is a front view from a web cam on a building across the street

Yes you did get it this time Stephen. I like the grandiose designs of the two buildings though the dark grey sky is a bit foreboding! What's the colour version like? And this is really only the first of a short series right....of Ottawa's best bits? You could start with one or two telephoto shots of that excellent library building..the repeated patterns in it are fascinating!
