A few years ago I decided I would put my old bike out by the road ... put some mums in the basket ... and have a old lady riding it. Found an old mask from the kids Halloween "stuff", my daughters graduation gown, a pair of black hose ... you get the idea. I stuffed this old lady and fastened her on my old bike. Of course we had to move her every so often.  Grin

One day my husband and I went into town to get a bit to eat. While we were in town a quick storm came up ... you know, one of those with heavy rain and wind ... then the sun came right back out. When we got home I notice the old lady had fallen over. Told Mike I would go pick her up when I walked the dogs. We were not home but just a couple of minutes when I had a phone call from a good friend. As I was talking to her ... looking out the front window ... a van pulled into our drive. (Our house sits off the road about 250' and up on a hill ... so we look down on the drive and road.) Two guys jumped out of the van ... open the side door and grabbed coats ... firemen coats.  Huh? I said something to Mike about these guys out by the road so he started watching them. Then we heard sirens ... the sheriff's deputy pulled in behind the van. Mike decided to go out and find out what was going on. By the time he got outside here was an ambulance.  Shocked

As luck would have it the sheriff's deputy was the neighbor's son and a good friend of our sons. I saw them all laughing as hard as they could. Someone had called 911 and told them an old lady riding a bike had fallen down. They were not sure of the address ... just knew it was a couple of miles before a cemetery on a state highway. So they sent everyone they could out to search for this old lady!! When the firemen found her they jumped out to start CPR on her. Travis said they had been searching all 3 state highways that are in our county.

Long story short, someone really thought there was an old lady that was hurt. One thing we could not figure out is why they did not stop to see if they could have helped her. After everyone had a good laugh ... and Travis was trying to figure out what he could arrest me for ... I sat the old lady and her bike back up. About 30 minutes later someone else pulled into our drive ... got out and walked up to look at her. We found out it was the people that made the phone call.

Here is my old lady ... and no I do not put her out by the road anymore!!  Cheesy
