Charleston, SC was hit by yellow fever which raged through the population twice between 1728 and 1732.  It took many lives, and in some cases (as you see here) entire families were swiftly wiped out. The cause (mosquitoes) was not understood. Treatments which included honeysuckle, foxglove, cayenne peppers and columbine leaves proved useless against the agonizing fever.

Sorry its has taken so long to get to this but have been ::out of town::, as sympl has said the composition seem a little tight and the angle could be better. I like the tones you have presented, definately worth a re-shoot when you next get to the area. Gravestones tell so many stories.
