One of our yoga students came by to show us her new baby.
I quickly snapped a shot of them ( in my kitchen) just before they left. So, no studio shot by any means, but just think they are so cute I wanted to share.. I hope you like? Kiss

Very well done, Mia. I'll bet your student was happy she stopped by!

Yes, thanks Patrish, I e-mailed her the pic and she loved it!

Thanks Celestya. Yes, I did a lot of PP on the image as it wasn't that great in color. (They were wearing busy looking colors etc) and I did lots of cloning with the back ground too (my kitchen cupboards) plus did what I could to tidy up the photo...

Have a (K) for being better skilled at PS than I, and for teaching Yoga, and the shot of course!

Thanks very much for the K Ian, appreciate your comments! All my work on this image was done in iPhoto and Picnik as I don't have Photoshop. The matting of the edges is kind of an automatic process there...

Another K, yeepee, I'm doing the happy dance again, thanks Kev! It was a very fast snapshot, the baby started crying shortly after, but I put quite a lot of work in the PP of it afterwards.

I love, love the shot!  That babies eyes are just sparkling!  I would actually lose the softening on the edge though.  I feel it takes away from the beauty of the shot.  Just my .02 though!

The BW conversion was a good option given the patterns on both the babies clothing and hers.  Unplanned shots are usally best from an expression standpoint.  And nothing beats window light because the catch lights can't be replicated in any studio!  Nice work Mia!  Smiley

Thanks for the comments Shuttermom. Yes, I only had time to snap 3 fast shots and in the other 2 the baby is crying lol, so this was very lucky it came out OK. The baby was dressed in brown and pink and the mother in blue, so wanted to tie them together nicely which I think the B&W did. I also have a sepia version which I quite like.
